Literary Associate
OLSWANGER LITERARY

ABOUT
Daniel Niv (she/her) is the co-founder and editor of Spell Jar Press, which publishes print anthologies. Her poetry has appeared in Phantom Kangaroo, Anti-Heroin Chic, Amethyst Review, and elsewhere. She has also spent several years freelancing as a manuscript reader for various leading publishing houses. Daniel majored in Literature and Creative Writing. She tried working in a bookshop—but ended up spending her entire salary there on books (sigh). So she worked as a librarian instead (which was *the best*).

Following her internship with literary agent Anna Olswanger in 2024, she finally got her dream job and became a Literary Associate at Olswanger Literary.

My Mission Statement

My mission is to build genuine relationships and become a bridge of connection between authors and the right home for their work, helping them bring stories to the world that move readers as they've moved me. I'm drawn to stories that act as portals, transporting readers to unfamiliar places while offering reflections on shared values in subtle, profound ways. I value narratives where imperfect, vulnerable characters find their strengths. I strive to amplify diverse voices and contribute to a rich, inclusive literary space, advocating for stories that resonate with people and become cherished, like old friends.
As an editorial agent, I aim to work closely with my clients to shape their stories into the versions they've always dreamed of telling, ensuring they feel proud before sharing their work with others.
I want to stand as a reminder that their stories are valuable and have a place in the world, and be a firm believer in that no matter how long it takes for others to see the magic I see in them.
